Berry to break ground on Valhalla on Oct. 17

ROME, Ga. — Berry College will officially break ground on Valhalla — the Vikings’ new athletic stadium — on Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. Victor the Viking and the Viking Drumline also will be on hand for the event, which gets under way with a “pregame” tailgate at 3:45 p.m.

Berry cheerleaders and athletes, and other special guests, will gather and celebrate ground-breaking for Valhalla, which includes Williams Field, Clark Track and Dickey Field.

The official program will follow just after 4 with brief remarks by Board of Trustees Chair Karen Holley Horrell (74C), lead donor Steve Cage (74C) and SGA President Paton Roden.

When completed in 2015, Valhalla will provide a home for Berry’s football, lacrosse, and track and field programs. It also will be suitable for hosting intramural games and other outdoor events. Visit www.berry.edu/valhalla for more details.
