It is hard to sum up New Zealand in a few words. The country has an incredible culture, its food is phenomenal, and its people must be among the friendliest in the world.
Then, there’s the scenery. This must be among the most beautiful places in the world. Sure, many places lay claim to such a statement, but in New Zealand, it’s a sentiment that’s not overstated.
Is it possible to feel both far away and close at the same time? If so, that is the feeling New Zealand gives. Its culture feels familiar yet foreign at the same time. Visitors might be forgiven if they feel as though they’ve traveled to the edge of the Earth or for wanting to return again and again.
Rusty Pelican Restaurant
Located in the heart of Matakana, the locally owned and family-run Rusty Pelican Restaurant and Rusty Sportsbar has served locals and holidaymakers since 1998.
Originally starting as the Matakana Service Station Workshop, Daniel Baturic Snr transformed it into the Rusty Pelican Restaurant and Rusty Pelican Sports Bar (formerly known as the Tui Bar). It provides a family-friendly dining experience and a separate bar for sports fans.
Its menu includes a range of pizzas.
