Auckland protest moved to Auckland CBD after police warn of unsafe Harbour Bridge conditions

Police say protest organizers have shifted their anti-Israel march away from the Auckland Harbour Bridge due to forecasts of unsafe high winds.

The demonstration will now take place in central Auckland between Aotea Square and Victoria Park, with disruption expected in the CBD. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Authorities had earlier raised safety concerns about pedestrians crossing the bridge, prompting organisers to change plans after discussions with police. Traffic management will no longer be required on the Auckland Harbour Bridge, and motorway disruption beyond normal congestion is no longer expected.
