The special exhibit, featuring materials from both the Civil War and the Railway Mail Service after the war, opens Oct. 11, 2017.
Items on loan from the NPM include Owney tags, Railway Mail Service (RMS) badges, a railway mail sack, a railway mail-on-the-fly pouch and four Civil War envelopes (also known as “covers”).
Sightseers’ Delight started publishing in June 2016. The site, published by The DeFeo Groupe, collects and curates content about places where historical events large and small happened. The site builds off the legacy of The Travel Trolley, which launched in June 2009. The site aimed to be a virtual version of the trolley tours offered in so many cities.
No economic activity, such as jobs, labor income, or value-added output, can be tied to Georgia’s jet fuel tax exemption, but it potentially results in lower airfares for travelers flying from Atlanta.
