DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The 57-acre Frogtown Cellars Vineyards & Winery provides splendid vistas of the North Georgia mountains in addition to wines made with homegrown grapes.

The winery produces more than 30 different types of wines made from grapes that are for the most part grown in the region. The winery also touts itself as the most awarded winery located in America not in California.

Craig Kritzer, a retired tax attorney who started Frogtown with his wife, Cydney, planted his first grapes in 1999 and bottled Frogtown’s first bottle in 2002, according to a 2014 article in the Valdosta Daily Times. The winery today has more than 22,000 grape vines.

The winery in 2014 opened a Frogtown South in Hahira in South Georgia.
