Googie Burger (Special to The Travel Trolley)

ATLANTA — Googie Burger has unveiled the Pig of the South burger as its Burger of the Month for May.

The hand-made burger patty is topped with BBQ pulled pork, crispy fried onions and American cheese and sells for $6.95. Googie is offering a Neighborhood Discount of 10 percent off with a work ID; the special does not apply to alcoholic beverages.

Googie burgers are hand-formed, seasoned and cooked to order. Touting itself as a modern twist on an otherwise old-fashioned menu, Googie also offers beer, wine and spiked milkshakes.

Googie Burger’s seasonal business hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Parking is available adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park in the Marietta Deck, next to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Winner of the 2012 Battle of the Burgers, Googie Burger infuses a futuristic design with a nostalgic menu in the heart of Downtown Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park.
