ATLANTA — The incumbent Georgia governor and his two Republican primary challengers are invited to face off during the Atlanta Press Club’s Loudermilk-Young Debate Series in advance of the May 20 primary.
Two challengers – current Georgia School Superintendent John Barge and former Dalton, Ga., Mayor David Pennington – are looking to unseat incumbent Gov. Nathan Deal. The winner of this high-profile primary faces Jason Carter, a Democratic state senator and the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter, in the Nov. 4 general election.
The debate, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, will be held at Georgia Public Broadcasting’s studio on 14th Street in Atlanta. The debate will be broadcast live on public broadcasting affiliates statewide, streamed on gpb.org and archived on atlantapressclub.org.
