Berry pulled out a thrilling overtime win Saturday at Chicago. The win, however, did more than improve the Vikings’ record to 5-1 this year; it signaled the program has arrived.
Berry College will have the first road test of its inaugural football season when the Vikings head to Macon for a Saturday showdown with Mercer University, which looks to remain unbeaten.
What a difference a year makes. A year ago, the Vikings, a team of mostly freshmen, struggled to post a complete game. While their record doesn’t reflect the improvement, the change is palpable.
