Aviation Act of 1917

The Aviation Act of 1917 temporarily increased funding for the United States Army Signal Corps.

The act provided provisions for airship or dirigible operations controlled by the U.S. Army Signal Corps Aeronautical Division. It also granted President Woodrow Wilson emergency authority to maintain, manufacture, operate, purchase, and repair airships and other aerial machines.
