Why don’t states take a larger role in managing national parks?

What happened to customer service? Is it so difficult for people today to pretend they have even the slightest level of competence? I am not talking long-term capability; just enough so they can do what they say.

The end of the year provides an opportunity to look back. It’s a moment to reflect on places visited, connections rekindled and even opportunities missed. With an eye toward 2019, here are a few of my favorite “travel” pictures from 2018.
