Picton’s London Quay could soon be upgraded.
According to a report in Stuff, plans call for new “cultural elements, dining areas and landscaping.” The six-month $2 million NZD project is expected to start in May.
“This waterfront space is such an important part of Picton’s identity with its linkages to the foreshore and” central business district, Stuff quoted Marlborough mayor Nadine Taylor as saying. “It is a high-use area with a view loved by everyone who lives in or visits Picton. This development will ensure it is accessible and an attractive hospitality and visitor space for all users.”
Picton is the South Island port for the Cook Strait ferries.
