ATLANTA — The Gateway of Dreams monument in Centennial Olympic Park was dedicated in 1996 and honors the father of the modern Olympic Games.
Pierre de Coubertin founded the modern Olympic Games with the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Raymond Kaskey designed the monument, which features a statue of Coubertin, a step pyramid and the columns of Boaz and Jachin.
Sightseers’ Delight started publishing in June 2016. The site, published by The DeFeo Groupe, collects and curates content about places where historical events large and small happened. The site builds off the legacy of The Travel Trolley, which launched in June 2009. The site aimed to be a virtual version of the trolley tours offered in so many cities.

More than 200,000 people are expected to turn out next month for the 132nd Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade. The annual family-friendly parade, aimed at celebrating the city’s Irish culture and history.
