Smyrna, Georgia, again unable to send utility bills in a timely fashion

SMYRNA, Ga. — City officials are again unable to send utility bills to customers in a timely fashion.

“We are experiencing an issue with the bill processing for the monthly utility bills,” the city said in a Facebook post. “We are working with our software vendor to get a resolution as quick as possible. As soon as the issue is resolved, we will send the bills out.”

While the bills are due on March 31, the city said it is extending the deadline. However, the utility bills will show the March 31 due date “because the date was populated prior to the process failing.”

“The deadline is extended and there will not be any penalties or late fees assessed on the bills,” the city said in its post. “We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.”
