Not all Smyrna, Georgia, city hall employees comply with mask mandate

SMYRNA, Ga. — City officials here require anyone who enters city hall to wear a mask, but not all employees comply with a requirement to wear a mask inside the building.

Smyrna city officials were quick to implement new restrictions on residents and visitors, including placing crime scene tape around public areas, such as the fountain on the Village Green. However, they have been unwilling to engage with residents on the restrictions they put in effect.

Meanwhile, amid the pandemic, the city has unable to keep up with some basic functions, such as mailing utility bills to customers on time. City officials are also looking to make some changes to business license requirements for home-based businesses.
