Looking to take a staycation this year?
WalletHub has named the best cities for a staycation. Of course, if you don’t live in one of these cities, you can still visit; that would be a vacation, not a staycation.
“Two-thirds of Americans say spending quality time as a family is the most important part of taking a family vacation,” Bill Sutherland, AAA senior vice president of Travel and Publishing, said in an April news release. “Whether it’s a cross-country road trip or a dream vacation to a far-off destination, travel offers busy families an excellent opportunity to share experiences and connect with each other in meaningful ways.”
According to WalletHub, the best cities for a staycation are:
- Orlando, Fla.
- Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
- Tampa
- Salt Lake City
- Scottsdale
- Atlanta
- Las Vegas
- Minneapolis
- St. Petersburg, Fla.
- Honolulu
WalletHub compared 28 metrics across the 150 largest cities. Data included such metrics as movie and bowling costs, golf courses, frozen-yogurt shops and spas per capita, and the cost of house-cleaning services.
