McCollum Field honored with 2015 General Aviation Project of the Year award

The Georgia Airport Association recently awarded Cobb County International Airport-McCollum Field with the 2015 General Aviation Project of the Year award.

This award, given for its newly constructed air traffic control tower, honors significant contributions for the betterment of the airport and local community.

The new air traffic control tower opened in March and provides improved visibility, proper layout of equipment, less glare, an improved work environment for controllers and a secure office for the tower manager. It also incorporates FAA security standards. Cobb County International Airport is the second busiest general aviation airport in Georgia and is base to 300 aircraft.
