Republicans Vying for 9th Congressional District Seat Face Off in Atlanta Press Club Debate

Candidates vying for the Republican nomination for the 9th Congressional District will have the opportunity to face off Sunday during the Atlanta Press Club’s Loudermilk-Young Debate Series.

Doug Collins, Roger D. Fitzpatrick and Martha Zoller are invited to appear at the debate, which will air statewide Sunday at 6 p.m. on Georgia Public Broadcasting and on GPB Radio. The winner of the July 31 primary will face Democrat Jody Cooley in the Nov. 8 general election.

Scheduled panelists for the debate are Blake Aued, Flagpole Magazine; Jim Galloway, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution; and Errin Haines, The Associated Press. Jon Shirek, WXIA-TV, will moderate. Afterward, the debate will be archived on the Atlanta Press Club’s website.

Other debates airing Sunday are 7th Congressional District (Republican), 11th Congressional District (Republican), 4th Congressional District (Democrat and Republican) and 5th Congressional District (Democrat).
