Occupancy rates at Columbus, Ohio, area hotels are up 6.4 percent during the first six months of 2011 compared to a year earlier, a positive sign that tourism to the city is rebounding, officials said.

Passenger traffic at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport increased by 3.7 percent during the first six months of 2011 compared to 2010 even as the number of landings and takeoffs decreased, the airport said.

The newspapers of record for Rockdale and Newton counties said they will start publishing a joint Sunday edition.
