Overview
The Carpenter Monument in Founder’s Park commemorates Ben H. Carpenter, who developed Las Colinas from land surrounding his family’s Hackberry Creek Ranch. Carpenter unveiled his master plan for the community in 1973, envisioning a combination of residential and commercial development that incorporated the area’s existing landscape.
The larger-than-life Carpenter Monument sculpture was created by wildlife sculptor Robert Glen, who also created the nearby Mustangs of Las Colinas. Marble cattle sculptures donated by the Trammell Crow Company in 1999 are also displayed in the park, reflecting the property’s history as a working ranch.
