New Jersey Assembly Republican Leader John DiMaio expressed optimism following Tuesday’s election results, seeing strong indicators of Republican momentum heading into next year’s state elections.
With all Assembly seats and the governor’s office up for grabs, DiMaio said Republicans are in a stronger position to make gains.
“As Democrats push further left, they seem to struggle more to bring their voters to the polls – both here and nationally,” DiMaio, R-Warren, said in a statement. “The numbers speak volumes.
“Many of the issues that weighed down Vice President Kamala Harris on the national stage are the same policies embraced by New Jersey’s Legislative Democrats, often with little regard for the real-world impact on families just trying to keep up,” DiMaio added. “These results highlight a shifting landscape, with early voting momentum building among Republicans, setting the stage for a pivotal state election next year.”
Harris won the Garden State by about five points.
