The Friends of Smyrna Public Library will hold its May used book sale May 16-17, offering bargain-priced books and media while raising money for library programs and projects.
The sale runs Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library’s first-floor meeting room.
Organizers said the sale is the Friends group’s primary fundraiser and is held several times a year. Shoppers can browse a wide selection that typically includes gently used fiction and nonfiction, children’s books and multimedia items such as DVDs and Blu-rays.
Proceeds support the Smyrna Public Library, including programs, special projects and materials acquisitions, according to the Friends group.
The Friends group is also seeking donations of gently used children’s books, which can be dropped off at the library’s circulation desk. Volunteers are needed for setup, staffing the sale, closing down and storage after the event.
