Georgia planning more tax dollars for state’s infrastructure

ATLANTA — Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said the state would spend millions of dollars on the state’s infrastructure, following a $1.5 billion spend the state made last year.

Kemp announced the initiative last week during the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs and Issues legislative preview event.

The governor said his upcoming budget proposal includes $530 million for freight and logistics infrastructure. He also proposed an additional $250 million for the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority fund to support the development of water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure projects.
