AAA: Georgia gas price average continues to decline

Motorists take advantage of a July 2024 promotion sponsored by Americans for Prosperity-Georgia. As part of the promotion, the group lowered gas prices at a Chevron in Dunwoody temporarily to $2.389 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, which the group said was the national average price per gallon in January 2021. The Georgia gas price average continues to decline at the pumps compared to a week ago, as Georgians pay an average of $2.94 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 4 cents less than a week ago, 26 cents less than a month ago, and 40 cents less than last year. Drivers pay an average of $44.10 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are paying almost $4.00 less to fill up at the pump than a month ago.

“Gasoline prices are getting a bit nicer on our wallets, thanks to low demand and crude oil costs taking a tumble,” Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman, said in a news release. “As for guessing when those gas prices will reverse course. Well, that’s still anyone’s call.”
