The 24 U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed fewer full-time equivalents (FTEs) in September 2021 than in September 1990.
That’s according to data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, which found the number of FTEs increased 0.7% from August to September. The number of FTEs employed in September 2021 is the lowest number of FTEs airlines employed in September since 2015.
