Smyrna police dedicating new memorial wall

SMYRNA, Ga. — Police here are dedicating a newly constructed memorial wall re-naming the Smyrna Police Department after the late Deputy Chief Michael L. Brown.

A ceremony is set for 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Brown died after suffering a heart attack while on duty on Feb. 2, 2015. At the time of his death, Brown had served the Smyrna Police Department for thirty 38 years.

In addition to his service the Smyrna Police Department, Brown was a United States Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
