Jones: Georgia’s Underground or Shadow Economy

The United States has a massive underground economy – reportedly over $1 trillion. This economy, referred to as our cash economy, includes cash transactions by drug dealers, prostitution rings and workers paid in cash for their labor. Georgia is not immune to this issue. Our state loses millions of dollars of legitimate tax revenue as do other states and the federal government as a result of this problem.

Money magazine names East Cobb best in Georgia

Money magazine has named East Cobb the top community in Georgia. According to Money: “The unincorporated area administered by the Cobb County Government was once dominated by chain restaurants, but it’s now embracing mom-and-pops that will give your taste buds a pleasant surprise—and make the most of the small-town Dixie hospitality.”
