ATLANTA — The city of Atlanta is looking for a company to manage paid parking along Atlanta’s streets.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed last month said the city is booting PARKAtlanta. The company has been plagued by accusations it gives fraudulent tickets and that its employees are rude and dishonest.
The winning company will be awarded a five-year contract to manage 2,500 paid parking spaces throughout the city.
“I have heard clear public demand for a new approach to parking management in the City of Atlanta and today I am responding to that demand,” Reed said in a statement. “The new agreement will bring immediate and reliable benefits to the City of Atlanta. It is designed to address public concerns, including the need for improved customer service and an independent process to challenge tickets through the Municipal Court. The city’s next parking operator will use cutting-edge, up-to-the-minute technology to operate a parking system that meets everyone’s needs.”
