Marietta Square hosting first-ever New Year’s drop

The Marietta Square will host a first-ever New Year’s Eve Midnight drop.

The Square is playing it coy about what “object” will be dropped has yet to be revealed to the public. The special Winter Wonderland events will conclude with January 4 being the last day of ice skating.

The festivities will begin at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 and include an open-air ice skating rink, ice sculpting, resolution wall, cosmic golfing and a kiss cam. At 8:30 p.m., The Whiskey Gentry will be performing on the Bandstand in the heart of Glover Park.

Food trucks, beer trucks and restaurant specials will also be offered.
