GBI: Killer used sweatshirt to kill himself

ATLANTA — A 20-year-old maintenance worker who this week pleaded guilty to killing a seven-year-old girl died as a result of “ligature hanging,” the GBI confirmed on Friday. Ryan Brunn, 20, who faced life in prison, “hanged himself with his sweat-shirt,” the investigative agency said in a statement. Ga. man faces Jan. 31 execution

ATLANTA — A man convicted of a 2001 murder in Paulding County faces a Jan. 31 execution, state officials said. Nicholas Cody Tate was convicted of killing Chrissie Williams and her 3-year-old daughter, Katelyn. If executed, Tate will be the 30th inmate in Georgia to be put to death by lethal injection.
