Republicans vying for 12th Congressional district seat dace off in Atlanta Press Club debate

Candidates vying for the Republican nomination for the 12th Congressional District will face off Sunday during the Atlanta Press Club’s Loudermilk-Young Debate Series.

Rick W. Allen, Lee Anderson, Wright McLeod and Maria Sheffield are invited to appear at the debate, which will air statewide on Georgia Public Broadcasting at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The winner of the July 31 primary will face Incumbent John Barrow, a Democrat, in the Nov. 8 general election.

Scheduled panelists for the debate include Errin Haines of The Associated Press and Orlando Montoya of Georgia Public Broadcasting. Richard Rogers of WRDW-TV will moderate. Afterward, the debate will be archived on the Atlanta Press Club’s website.

Other debates airing Sunday are Public Service Commission, District 3 (Republican) Public Service Commission, District 5 (Republican); Third Congressional District (Republican); and 10th Congressional District (Republican). Six more debates are scheduled for July 29.
