ABH: Odum the first to adopt display under new law

The first known historic documents display – one that includes the Ten Commandments as permitted under a state law legislators passed last year – has been erected by a government in Georgia, according to the Hartwell-based group promoting the exhibits.

The “Foundations of American Law and Government Display” went up Saturday in the south Georgia city of Odum – a town of about 450 people located northwest of Jesup in Wayne County.

“We feel that many other counties and cities will follow suit,” said Mike Griffin, executive director of Ten Commandments-Georgia, the group that is offering an all-in-one collection of historic documents allowed under state law.
