A joint operation between Police and Immigration New Zealand has disrupted a criminal syndicate being operated by Vietnamese and Cambodian nationals in Wellington.

New Zealand Police are investigating the death of a man following a serious assault in Helensville last month.

A body has today been located in the Avon River near Riccarton Avenue in Christchurch, New Zealand, authorities said.

A man sought in connection with the ongoing Queen Street homicide investigation in August will appear in court today.
