AJ’s On Main

Overview

AJ’s on Main is a restaurant on Main Street in Grapevine, Texas. A.J. Gillinger, a former police officer and military serviceman with an interest in backyard barbecue, opened the restaurant in April 2013. Gillinger operated the restaurant with members of his family.

The restaurant occupies a distinctive building that previously housed an oyster market for 22 years. Set slightly apart from the neighboring storefronts along Main Street, the building had become a recognizable local landmark before Gillinger took over the property. AJ’s on Main retained the location while establishing a new restaurant centered on Gillinger’s entry into the food-service business.
