On August 21, 1878, when the Alerts, a ballclub based in Atlanta traveled to Smyrna (presumably our beautiful city) for “A Good Game of Ball,” as The Atlanta Constitution noted in its headline chronicling the event. The Atlanta team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning en route to a 13-7 victory.
Sightseers’ Delight started publishing in June 2016. The site, published by The DeFeo Groupe, collects and curates content about places where historical events large and small happened. The site builds off the legacy of The Travel Trolley, which launched in June 2009. The site aimed to be a virtual version of the trolley tours offered in so many cities.
