U.S. Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, R-Georgia, penned a letter to U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick voicing concern that a Biden-era proposed rule from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration limiting recreational fishing for several species, including red snapper, will have devastating effects on coastal Georgia’s economy.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded South Carolina a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) to support the state’s response to the Covington Drive Fire, Republican Gov. Henry McMaster said. The grant will help ensure resources are available to suppress the fire burning near Myrtle Beach. The FMAG, funded through the federal Disaster Relief Fund on a cost-share basis, allows local, state, and tribal agencies responding to the fire to apply for 75% reimbursement of eligible
