Frontier Airlines is launching service this week on eight routes previously operated by Spirit Airlines, filling gaps left in several U.S. markets.
The new routes began on July 5 and July 6 and include service involving Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Orlando, Memphis, New Orleans, Philadelphia and Richmond.
The additions include daily service between Boston and Orlando, Dallas-Fort Worth and New Orleans, Detroit and Fort Lauderdale, Detroit and Philadelphia, and Detroit and Las Vegas. Frontier is also adding four-times-weekly service between Las Vegas and Kansas City and three-times-weekly service between Orlando and Memphis and Orlando and Richmond.
The move gives Frontier a chance to expand in markets where Spirit had previously operated, including routes tied to Florida and major connecting airports. It also underscores continued shifting among low-cost carriers as airlines adjust their networks and compete for price-sensitive leisure travelers.
Frontier said schedules and frequencies are subject to change.
The airline has also been pushing changes to its product, including UpFront Plus seating, expanded loyalty benefits and planned First Class seating beginning in 2026.
