Lanier Islands Resort will host a new Hot Air Balloon Festival Sept. 18 and 19 along the shores of Lake Lanier.
The festival, produced by Balloon Shows USA, will run from 5 to 10 p.m. each evening and feature hot air balloons, tethered balloon rides, live music, DJ entertainment, craft and food vendors and a kids’ zone. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local special needs initiatives and the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.
The event adds to Lanier Islands Resort’s growing lineup of signature events, which includes Magical Nights of Lights, the Atlanta Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance and the Concerts for a Cause series. The resort has also recently completed several upgrades, including a room refresh at Legacy Lodge, the debut of The Six, a night-lit par-3 golf course, and improvements to the Mike Williams Golf Center at Legacy Golf Course.
The festival’s nightly finale is expected to begin around 9 p.m. and will include a laser light show set to music with coordinated balloon burns.
Single-day tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 to 17. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free. VIP tickets are $45 for adults and $30 for children. Military members and first responders can receive discounted admission with valid identification.
Tethered balloon rides are $35 per person. The resort is also offering a Balloon Festival Getaway package that includes overnight accommodations and a $50 food-and-beverage credit per night.
