The City of Atlanta has announced that the Department of Public Works Office of Solid Waste Services will suspend collection operations on Friday, Sept. 27.
Residents whose regular service day is Friday should not place any trash bins, recycling bins, or yard debris curbside until after the storm passes.
Curbside and backyard collections are expected to resume on Saturday, Sept. 28, depending on weather conditions. If conditions are unfavorable on Saturday, Friday services will be moved to Sunday, Sept. 29.
Due to weather impacts, garbage and recycling removal will be prioritized when services resume. Please refrain from leaving yard debris curbside this week.
The Office of Solid Waste Services previously suspended bulk waste service scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27. Residents whose bulk item pickup was rescheduled due to the storm will be notified of a revised service day.
Residents are advised not to put any solid waste items curbside due to expected severe weather conditions and should wait until their rescheduled day.
If residents need additional assistance, they can contact the City of Atlanta by dialing 3-1-1 (inside Atlanta City limits) or 404-546-0311. They can also download the Atlanta Solid Waste Services mobile app or visit www.atlantaga.gov/solidwaste to find their collection schedule.
