Hotel Indigo Atlanta-Vinings Ballpark Area celebrated its reopening on Wednesday, Aug. 19, following an extensive renovation designed to give the property a more upscale feel while tying the hotel more closely to the history and character of the Vinings community.
The renovation brings redesigned interiors and other improvements to the hotel near the Atlanta Braves’ ballpark area, with ownership positioning the property as both a destination for visitors and a gathering place for the surrounding community. Hotel leaders said the goal was to preserve the property’s reputation as a welcoming home away from home while creating a more luxurious, comfortable and refined guest experience.
The project also comes as the Hotel Indigo brand reaches a milestone of 200 hotels worldwide. The brand traces its origins to the Atlanta area and has since expanded internationally, with properties designed around the neighborhoods and communities where they operate.
IHG and Hotel Indigo leaders joined the hotel’s ownership group, employees, project partners, business representatives and community leaders for the reopening celebration.

Hotel Indigo officials said the Vinings renovation reflects the brand’s broader approach of designing hotels around local stories rather than creating properties that could be placed interchangeably in any market.
That local influence includes references to Nellie Mae Rowe, the Georgia folk artist known for transforming everyday materials and surroundings into colorful works of art. Rowe lived in Vinings for decades, and her work and connection to the community helped inspire elements of the renovated hotel.
The hotel’s ownership group said the renovation was the culmination of roughly two years of work and investment in the property. Owners credited investors, IHG and Hotel Indigo officials, project partners and the hotel’s employees with helping complete the transformation.
Hotel leaders said they expect the renovated property to serve travelers visiting the Vinings and ballpark areas while also strengthening its role within the local community. The reopening celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the renovated property and a reception for guests.
