Smyrna Fire Department to offer free Stop the Bleed training June 26

SMYRNA, Georgia — The Smyrna Fire Department will offer a free Stop the Bleed bleeding-control training course on Friday, June 26, at the Smyrna Community Center.

The course is open to all city of Smyrna employees and does not require prior medical experience. The training will be held in the Magnolia Room at the Smyrna Community Center.

Two sessions will be offered. The first runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The second runs from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, apply tourniquets, pack deep wounds, use direct pressure, locate and use bleeding-control kits, and call for emergency help while communicating key patient information to EMS responders.

The course is designed to teach practical emergency skills that can help bystanders respond quickly before professional medical help arrives. Registration is available through the QR code on the event flyer.
