The Smyrna City Council has adopted a maligned new brand guide without discussion.
According to a previous Facebook post from Mayor Derek Norton, the city paid $75,000 for a 12-month comprehensive rebranding effort, which includes a new logo for the city. The process has been criticized on sites such as Reddit, but city officials have defended their decision not to widely promote the rebranding or invite local marketers to join the process.
The city included the adoption of its new branding on the city council’s consent agenda for its Monday meeting, which members approved.
