SMYRNA, Georgia — The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation is hosting its Jazz Under the Gazebo fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Market Village Gazebo in downtown Smyrna.
Tickets are $75 per person. Proceeds benefit the Smyrna police and fire departments via the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation.
Sightseers’ Delight started publishing in June 2016. The site, published by The DeFeo Groupe, collects and curates content about places where historical events large and small happened. The site builds off the legacy of The Travel Trolley, which launched in June 2009. The site aimed to be a virtual version of the trolley tours offered in so many cities.
ATLANTA – The state of Georgia late Wednesday executed convicted cop killer Troy Anthony Davis. Davis was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m., CNN reported. It was the fourth time since his 1991 conviction that Georgia officials sought to execute Davis. His execution was postponed the previous three times pending appeals. On Wednesday, Davis’ execution – originally scheduled for 7 p.m. – was delayed about four hours while state officials waited for word from the U.S.
The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History is hosting its annual fundraising gala this November, and attendees have an opportunity to sample fare from local restaurants while supporting the educational mission of the museum.
