Boil water advisory lifted for entire city of Atlanta

ATLANTA — The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has lifted the boil water advisory for the entire city of Atlanta. The advisory was issued on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Sampling has confirmed that the city’s public water may be used for all purposes and does not require boiling. The City’s drinking water meets or exceeds standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as required by the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has been notified.

DWM is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of residents across the City of Atlanta. The city said it sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this unforeseen issue.
