Smyrna wants private firm to monitor short-term rental ordinance compliance

Smyrna city officials want “a qualified firm” to provide a complete compliance monitoring, enforcement, and analytical service to monitor short-term rentals per the city’s short-term rental ordinance.

“The intent of this solicitation is to select a vendor experienced in identifying, monitoring and reporting, and providing enforcement and analytical mechanisms related to short-term rental compliance,” the city said in an RFP.

Proposals are due to the city by 2 p.m. on Sept. 15.

The city adopted a short-term rental ordinance, saying such action was necessary following citizen concerns about parking, noise and property maintenance of short-term rentals in single-family neighborhoods.
