KENNESAW, Georgia — The Kennesaw Museum Foundation and the Southern Museum will host the first Southern Spirits of 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 22.
The event will coincide with the Southern Museum’s 50th anniversary celebration, and during Southern Spirits, guests will have the rare opportunity to board The General locomotive.
Tickets are $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.
Southern Spirits also features entry to the museum, hors d’oeuvres from Eatin’Fresh Kennesaw and adult beverages. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for no cost.
Mitchell Phillips, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter and guitarist who recently began writing and producing his own music, and Ezra Jacob will serenade guests as they stroll through the museum’s exhibits.
Atlanta Bonded Warehouse, Burnt Hickory Brewery, Credit Union of Georgia, McNeel Builders, North Georgia Staffing and Savannah Distributing are sponsoring the event.

To kick off the museum’s celebration, Todd DeFeo, editor of Railfanning.org and author of several railroad histories, will lead a bus tour of the historic Western & Atlantic Railroad on Saturday, April 2. The tour, which begins at the Southern Museum, will highlight the line’s unique history and showcase many places where famous events transpired.
