Walt Disney World is undertaking a massive multi-year overhaul of EPCOT.
In announcing the transformation, company officials cited Walt Disney, who said EPCOT “would always be in a state of becoming,”
“Over the next several years, the Walt Disney World Resort theme park will live up to that promise in a whole new way as it continues the biggest transformation of any Disney park in history, bringing the next generation of immersive storytelling to life through a plethora of new attractions and experiences,” the resort said in a news release.
Officials said the revamped park will have four neighborhoods: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery.
As part of the redo, the park will add a new attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, to the France pavilion. In it, guests shrink to the size of Chef Remy and race through Gusteau’s restaurant on a wild adventure.
The park is also adding a new restaurant, La Crêperie de Paris, with both table and quick-service options. Celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse is developing the menu.
In the United States pavilion, the park will add the Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue. The new fast-casual restaurant, which takes its name from Sam Eagle, will offer classic American backyard barbecue and home-style craft brews.
In the World Celebration neighborhood, EPCOT will add a new view of the World Showcase from Dreamers Point. As guests pass Spaceship Earth, they will discover a new statue honoring the legacy of Walt Disney.
