Duluth declares Sept. 22 as Southeastern Railway Museum, Smithsonian Day

DULUTH, Ga. — Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris has declared Sept. 22 as Southeastern Railway Museum, Smithsonian Day in the city.

On that day, the museum will offer free admission to anyone who signs up for a free ticket through Smithsonian Magazine. To get a free ticket, visit smithsonianmag.com/museumday/museum-day-2018/.

More than 23,000 people visit the Southeastern Railway Museum annually. The state legislature in 2000 designated the museum as Georgia’s Official Transportation History Museum.

The museum is staffed by more than 125 volunteers
