Is the media biased against Trump? Most say yes

More than half of Americans say the news media is biased against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, a new poll found.

The Quinnipiac University Poll of likely voters found 55 percent of people say the media is biased compared to 42 percent who say it is not.

Not surprisingly, 88 percent of Republicans say there is a bias. Just 8 percent of Republican voters say there is no bias.

Interestingly, 61 of independent voters say there is media bias against Trump compared to 37 percent who said there is not. Of little surprise, three in four Democrats (77 percent) say the media is not biased compared to 20 percent who said it is.

“Donald Trump made the charge, and American likely voters agree: There IS a media bias against the GOP contender,” Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a statement. “But does that explain his lackluster standing with his core base?”
