A damming new report about corruption in DeKalb County concludes interim County CEO Lee May should resign.

“He needs to resign because there is a total absence of leadership in that county,” WSB-TV quoted report co-author and former Georgia Attorney General Mike Bowers as saying.

May, however, dismissed the findings of the report.

“The content of this report is at best laughable and at worst it’s pitiful,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted May as saying.

The report cost county taxpayers $850,000. Published reporters indicate county officials may decline the pay the entire tab or seek a reduction in the price tag.
