Georgia State, Army to face off starting in 2021

ATLANTA — Georgia State and Army will play a two-year home-and-home series in football that will begin in 2021, the schools announced today.

Georgia State will host Army on Sept. 4, 2021, before making a trip to West Point, N.Y., on Oct. 1, 2022. It will mark the second Service Academy the Panthers have faced in their young history, Georgia State played Air Force last year.

Army, a three-time national champion, has been playing football since 1890. The Panthers trip to New York will mark the first time playing a game in the state.

The Panthers have only one spot remaining on the schedule for the 2021 season with three games under contract and two remaining for 2022.

The 2016 non-conference schedule is already complete with the Panthers hosting Ball State and UT Martin, while making trips to Air Force and Wisconsin.

Georgia State will open the 2015 season facing Charlotte in the Georgia Dome on Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
